Tufnell Park

Tufnell Park is located to the North of London between Kentish Town and Holloway. Although there are no parks in Kentish Town it is only a little over a mile from the vast expanse of Hampstead Heath. The part of The Heath closest to Tufnell Park hosts most of the organised leisure facilities including a bowling green, the bandstand and bathing ponds.

One of the most striking buildings in the area is the former church of St Georges’ on Tufnell Park Road. Built in 1867 and based on a 5th Century Greek church and also modelled on Shakespeare’s original Globe Theatre it is now owned by a religious group. Tufnell Park also has one of the best performing schools in the Borough of Islington in Yerbury Primary School on Foxham Road. In the words of the OFSTED inspector "The quality of teaching is outstanding. This, coupled with an exciting curriculum, has led to excellent achievement". Tufnell Park Tube Station is located on zone 2 of the Northern Line. Journey time to central London is approximately twenty minutes.
