Upper Holloway

Upper Holloway is a residential suburb in the London Borough of Islington. The area often gets lumped in with Archway as they are so close to each other but Upper Holloway has its own National Rail station on Holloway Road. There is a varied selection of properties in the area ranging from big old Victorian houses to council estates. Most of the larger houses were converted to flats during the 1970s and 80s.

Upper Holloway is somewhat lacking in greenery but, should you have the urge, Hampstead Heath is approximately 2 miles to the west. The closest part of The Heath contains its three bathing ponds, accessed via Millfield Lane. If you prefer to travel by underground there are tube stations at Archway, Tufnell Park (both on the Northern line) and Finsbury Park (Piccadilly & Victoria lines) any of which will take you in to the West End in around twenty minutes.
