Turnpike Lane

Turnpike Lane is a residential suburb in the London Borough of Haringey. Turnpike Lane itself runs from Hornsey to the west through to the eponymous station at the top of Wood Green High Road. The roads to the south of Turnpike Lane are known as The Harringay Ladder and mainly consist of modest Victorian terraces. There are very few larger properties in the area.

The closest green area to Turnpike Lane is Downhills Park to the east. Winner of a Green Flag Award in 2006 and 2007 the park is divided into two distinctive parts; the recreation ground to the west, used every weekend during the season for both organised sport and informal kickabouts, and the formal gardens to the east. Turnpike Lane Underground Station is located in zone 2 of the Piccadilly Line. Travelling time to the West End is approximately fifteen minutes. There is also a major bus station outside the underground station.
