Tooting Bec

Tooting Bec is in the London Borough of Wandsworth and is situated to the south of Balham and to the north of Tooting.

Tooting Bec is dominated by the huge Tooting Bec Common. Here you will find Tooting Bec Lido, which has a particular claim to fame: it is the largest freshwater pool in the country. This is a popular spot in the summer with people from all around the area decamping here to cool off on hot days. The rest of the common provides a great deal of space for walking and other recreational activities. There is a range of mixed housing in Tooting Bec and it remains a relatively affordable area, compared to other parts of south-west London.

Tooting Bec doesn’t have an overground rail station, although Tooting station is a manageable distance away. However, it does have an underground station, which is in zone 2 and is on the Northern line. Local buses provide a further public transport option.
