Vauxhall

Vauxhall is in the London Borough of Lambeth, on the south bank of the River Thames. Kennington lies to the east of Vauxhall and Stockwell to the south.

Vauxhall was traditionally a fairly nondescript inner city area of London that was a route to elsewhere rather than being an area in its own right. However, good transport links and its close proximity to the centre of London have led to a rise in popularity in recent years. There have always been pockets of more desirable roads and housing, with a number of council blocks in the area as well. Vauxhall is a popular gay nightspot with many clubs and bars situated in and around the railway arches. It’s a lively and vibrant area.

Vauxhall has both a mainline train station and an underground. Trains take just 5 minutes to get to London Waterloo. The underground is in zones 1/2 and is on the Victoria line.
