West Kensington

This area of Kensington is situated between Earl’s Court and Baron’s Court, in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

The housing tends to be large Victorian townhouses, most of which have been converted into apartments. There is also some modern development and social housing. Prominent schools in the area include the St James Independent Junior and Senior Schools. As well as a number of fashionable shops and restaurants, West Kensington is famous for the Olympia Exhibition Centre and, for tennis fans, there’s the prestigious Queen’s Club. The Queen’s Club Championships are held here every year and are a prominent fixture on the tennis circuit.

West Kensington has a tube station, which is on the District Line, linking up to Earl’s Court and central London. It is in zone 2.
