CamdenTown is located between Kentish Town and
RegentsPark to the north-west of
London. The most common styles of property found in the area are Victorian terraces, smaller mews-style houses and Local Authority flats. Further out from the centre you’ll find many larger style mid-Victorian semis.
The area is renowned for its thriving music scene. Bands such as The Clash and Coldplay had their origins in
CamdenTown. The famous landmark in the area is the
CamdenPalace, which has been around since the 1900’s.
CamdenTown is also home to a thriving outdoor market covering most of the Camden Lock area. Unfortunately a fire destroyed some of the market area in February 2008.
Just a short walk along
Park Way is
RegentsPark, covering an area of some 410. The sports facilities in
RegentsPark are impressive, including 2 large rugby pitches, an athletics track and a tennis centre. For family entertainment check out London Zoo or if you are of a more cultural bent the Open Air Theatre stages Shakespeare plays throughout the summer season.
The area has excellent transport links including two underground stations;
CamdenTown and Chalk Farm. Both are situated on Zone 2 of the Northern Line.
