What type of property survey should you have?
If you are taking out a mortgage the lender will insist upon carrying out a valuation inspection. Although you will bear the cost of this it is just a valuation for the lender's purposes and not a survey. The two most common types of property survey are an RICS Homebuyer Survey and Valuation, often referred to as a Homebuyer's Report and a Building Survey. The Homebuyer's Report will be suitable in most cases. The exceptions are properties that are more than 150 years old, that have been substantially altered or that have known structural problems. If any of these exceptions apply a Building Survey, previously known as a Full Structural survey, will be more appropriate.

Bow is an area that is fast becoming popular with people trying to find new and more inexpensive areas that are fairly central. Bow is close to the City and also to Docklands so that are plenty advantages to living here for City workers and new apartment blocks have been springing up to cater for the influx of new residents. However, there is still very much an East End feel to much of Bow with many people having lived here their whole lives and remaining staunchly proud of their cockney roots.
There are two stations in Bow: Bow Church, which is on the DLR rail network; and Bow Road underground station. This is in zone 2 and is on the Hammersmith & City and District lines, offering quick travel times into the city and across north and west London.
