What type of property survey should you have?

If you are taking out a mortgage the lender will insist upon carrying out a valuation inspection. Although you will bear the cost of this it is just a valuation for the lender's purposes and not a survey. The two most common types of property survey are an RICS Homebuyer Survey and Valuation, often referred to as a Homebuyer's Report and a Building Survey. The Homebuyer's Report will be suitable in most cases. The exceptions are properties that are more than 150 years old, that have been substantially altered or that have known structural problems. If any of these exceptions apply a Building Survey, previously known as a Full Structural survey, will be more appropriate.

Information on Upper Norwood

Upper Norwood is located in the London Borough Of Croydon. It is situated south of Norwood and east of Norbury, with Anerley and Crystal Palace to the east.

As the name suggests, Upper Norwood is on an elevated piece of land in a largely residential area of south London. With its own library, park and shopping facilities, Upper Norwood is self sufficient in terms of daily requirements and it has a quiet, suburban feel. However, it is still within easy reach of central London and other larger local towns.

Upper Norwood doesn’t have its own dedicated mainline train station. However, there are a number of stations close by that serve different central London destinations. Gipsy Hill has direct services to both London Bridge and London Victoria, each journey taking just over 20 minutes. Crystal Palace and West Norwood stations are also within easy reach.
