What type of property survey should you have?

If you are taking out a mortgage the lender will insist upon carrying out a valuation inspection. Although you will bear the cost of this it is just a valuation for the lender's purposes and not a survey. The two most common types of property survey are an RICS Homebuyer Survey and Valuation, often referred to as a Homebuyer's Report and a Building Survey. The Homebuyer's Report will be suitable in most cases. The exceptions are properties that are more than 150 years old, that have been substantially altered or that have known structural problems. If any of these exceptions apply a Building Survey, previously known as a Full Structural survey, will be more appropriate.

Information on Lambeth

Lambeth lies in the London Borough of Lambeth and is geographically located directly east of Westminster, which sits just across the river. To the east of Lambeth is Elephant & Castle, whilst Kennington and Oval are to the south.

Lambeth has become integrated into Waterloo in more recent years as it benefits from all the facilities of its more famous neighbour. There are some famous landmarks in Lambeth, including the Imperial War Museum with its impressive façade and leafy grounds, and St Thomas’ Hospital is a short walk from the underground station. Although it is part of the urban sprawl of central London, Lambeth retains a quieter fell, with its wide streets and garden squares. There are pockets of stunning housing tucked away off the main roads, as well as contemporary apartment blocks.

Lambeth North underground station is in zone 1 and is on the Bakerloo line, making Lambeth very appealing for those who need to be right in the heart of London. Buses are plentiful and frequent.
