Information on Tooting

Situated in the London Borough of Wandsworth, Tooting is a bustling local town that is geographically located to the west of Streatham and to the south of Balham and Wandsworth.

Tooting is an inner city London area that has a range of residential properties and fairly good access to everyday shopping and recreational requirements. The housing is a mix of Victorian period properties, with some Edwardian as well. There are also plenty of new build and council apartments dotted around the area. Tooting is known as being the home of St George’s Hospital and also of the Wimbledon Greyhound Racing Track, one of the last in the city. The main hub of Tooting is at the crossroads between Upper Tooting Road and Mitcham Road, which is also the location of the train station.

Tooting mainline station operates direct services into London Blackfriars, taking about 25 minutes. The underground station at Tooting Broadway is in zone 3 and is on the Northern line, with a route that goes through the city and into central London.
