Notting hill is located between
HollandPark and Kensington in
West London. The main types of property that are found in the area are big Victorian terraces, some of which have been converted to flats, and ex local authority housing. The name of the area is now known throughout the world following the release of the Richard Curtis romantic comedy, Notting Hill.
One of the highlights in
London’s cultural calendar takes place here, the Notting Hill Carnival. The annual event attracts over 1million people to the area. The area is also notable for the outdoor Portobello Market whose traders sell everything from antiques to fruit and vegetables. Notting hill is located next to one of
London’s most prestigious parks,
HollandPark. The park covers an area of 350 acres and has many excellent facilities.
Transport links in the area are average. Two underground lines flank Notting Hill although neither actually passes through the area. The closest stations are Ladbroke Grove and Notting Hill Gate.
