Golders Green

Golders Green is a residential suburb in the London Borough of Barnet, neighbouring Cricklewood, Temple Fortune and Hendon.

The area has a strong Jewish history, with a community dating back to the beginning of the twentieth century. Coffee bars and bagel outlets are a more common sight in Golders Green than pubs, contributing to a relaxed, street culture. It’s a pretty expensive area to live in and is popular with families; Golders Hill Park provides green space and a children’s zoo. Golders Green is famous for its crematorium, in which such famous names as Sigmund Freud, TS Elliot and Stanley Baldwin were cremated.

Golders Green tube station is on the Edgware branch of the Northern Line in zone 3 and travel into Central London takes 15-20 minutes. Golders Green also has a bus station, directly outside the tube station.
