Information on Whitehall Park
Whitehall Park is a conservation area to the north of London between Archway and Highgate where the roads are mercifully free of traffic despite being dangerously close to one of the most congested roundabouts in London at Archway.
The area has a wealth of period properties from the 1920s semis of Fitzwarren Gardens (those on the outer circle enjoy fantastic views over London) to the elaborate late Victorian houses in Whitehall Park and Gladsmuir Road. To the south-east of the area are a group of roads which are named after characters from the plays of Shakespeare; Cressida, Parolles Lysander, Parolles and Prospero and are known locally as the Shakespeares. There are a few local shops along Cressida Road but for the weekly shop you will probably need to travel to nearby Holloway Raod. The nearest tube station is located just to the south of Whitehall Park in Archway from where you can board a Northern Line (zone 3) train to central London. Journey time is approximately twenty minutes.
