Information on Soho

Soho is a small, vibrant area in the City of Westminster. It is tucked just behind Oxford Street and centres around Soho Square and the roads leading off it.

Soho is well known as being one of London’s main nightlife areas, with a host of bars, cafes and restaurants. It was traditionally the red light district but in recent years the area has lost much of that image, although many sex shops and adult bars do still remain. Soho is a popular base for film and television production companies and other companies relating to entertainment and the arts. There is a strong music scene in the area as well as many independent music and clothing shops.

Public transport is good and there are a number of tube stations surrounding Soho, all being in zone 1. Oxford Circus, Oxford Street, Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus form a square around Soho and are all within easy walking distance of the area.
