What type of property survey should you have?

If you are taking out a mortgage the lender will insist upon carrying out a valuation inspection. Although you will bear the cost of this it is just a valuation for the lender's purposes and not a survey. The Homebuyer's Report will be suitable in most cases. The exceptions are properties that are more than 150 years old, that have been substantially altered or that have known structural problems. If any of these exceptions apply a Building Survey, previously known as a Full Structural survey, will be more appropriate.

Information on Friern Barnet

Friern Barnet is a residential suburb in the London Borough of Barnet. The housing stock is made up of 1930s semis, maisonettes and purpose-built flats although there are good selection of Late Victorian and Edwardian properties to the north of the area just off the main road.

Friern Park, is a formal Edwardian setting that makes up the grounds of Friary House and is very popular with the locals. The closest station to Friern Barnet is New Southgate Network Rail Station on the First Capital Connect line from where you can get to Moorgate (or Kings Cross at week-ends) in around 20 minutes.
